Roll Design & Technical Services
Roll production begins with design and planning. If desired, we are able to offer a roll design service working in close co-operation with the customer utilising our In-house CAD workstations, with specialist roll design software, for this purpose.
Since the early 1970’s, the design of rolls for longitudinally welded tubes and hollow sections has been a major part of our business. During this time we have gained a wealth of knowledge and experience. We are able to design the roll sets around our customer’s existing criteria or to S+C Bowers & Jones own design principles. Due to the increasing industrial use of cold rolled open sections, design development of roll tooling for these applications has become more important in recent years. Rolls for practically any profiles can be designed at S+C B&J.
