10,000 Euro aid for disaster victims to Malteser Relief Agency

Lindlar, 22nd January 2010. Schmidt + Clemens, the high-grade steel specialist located in Lindlar (Germany), donates 10,000 Euro to the Malteser Relief Agency in aid of the earthquake victims in Haiti.

“We are a family business which is present world-wide and therefore we would like to express our global responsibility”, reports Jan Schmidt-Krayer, Managing Partner of Schmidt + Clemens. “We are very affected by the misery of fellow human beings in Haiti. We decided in favour of the Malteser Relief Agency as they are already active there for emergency relief as well as for development assistance”.

Since 15th January 2010, the Malteser Relief Agency has rendered first aid and medical basic care at the border area to the Dominican Republic as well as in the nearly completely destroyed hospitals of the capital of Haiti, Port-au-Prince.

“Schmidt + Clemens sets a good example and we hope that many others are going to follow suit”, emphasizes Elisabeth Baroness von Spies, Malteser Vice President, the Relief Agency’s hopes and aspirations. “In order to continue our aid successfully, we are in urgent need of donations. We express our gratitude to Schmidt + Clemens. Especially in difficult economic times, such a donation cannot be taken for granted”.
