2020 Study: Innovation for Germany

Lindlar, June 22, 2020 - For the third time in a row, Schmidt + Clemens (S+C), the stainless steel specialist headquartered in Lindlar, Germany, has been named as the recipient of the ‘Innovation Prize 2020’, a distinction awarded annually by Deutschland Test in collaboration with Focus Money.

Working with IMWF, a leading German management and economic research institute, Deutschland Test researched over 400 million online sources relating to Germany’s 5,000 biggest enterprises as measured in terms of workforce numbers. With 100 points, S+C ranked in 1st place in the category ‘Special Steel Production and Processing’, the German business magazine Focus reports in its 26/20 issue.

“After receiving the ‘TOP 100 Award’ only last Friday, this latest distinction is further clear testimony to our striving for innovation,” states managing partner and CEO Jan Schmidt-Krayer. “However, this is no grounds for us to rest on our laurels,” he continues. “On the contrary, we will continue to optimize our products and processes and maintain our market leadership through innovation.”

In addition to the parent site in Germany, the Schmidt + Clemens Group also has production facilities in Spain, the Czech Republic, Malaysia and Saudi-Arabia. S+C is the world market leader in tube and piping systems for the petrochemical industry. The product range also includes components for use in separation technology, energy engineering, industrial furnace construction and the pump industry.
