S+C has today presented its business figures for the year 2017. Despite the weakness of demand on its international markets, the group of companies managed to record a satisfactory result.
The German business magazine “Focus”, in cooperation with Deutschland Test, has named Schmidt + Clemens as one of the country’s most innovative companies. S+C has earned the accolade in particular on the strength of its innovations, investment and R&D activities.
“We are very proud to be named once more as one of Germany’s best training employers,” says managing partner Jan Schmidt-Krayer. “We have been ranked in third place within our sector.”
The Schmidt + Clemens Group has today presented its financial statements for the last financial year. The slowness of the recovery in the oil price led to a tangible reluctance to invest on the part of customers in the petrochemicals sector.
S+C has invested around 8 million euros in the deep-hole boring sector in the last two years, thereby consolidating one of the company's core technologies.
S+C has founded a new service company in the South of Malaysia. In future, the Schmidt + Clemens Engineering Services Sdn. Bhd., based in Johor Bahru, will carry out the Corporate Group´s Asian service activities.
Service business manager Mr Peter Düster emphasises: "South Malaysia was particularly appealing for us, as we are very close to our customers' activities in this location."

Lindlar-based company joins the ranks of Germany’s innovation leaders. Awards presented by TOP 100 mentor Ranga Yogeshwar.
Despite falling raw material prices, the S+C Group still succeeded in increasing its sales by five percent to €291.0 million.
Effective 1st June 2015 Heinz Jürgen Kroner takes over the responsibility as Chief Sales Officer at the high-grade steel specialist Schmidt + Clemens (S+C), Lindlar, Germany. He follows Thomas Hellige who is leaving his position on grounds of age.
„Sales lie about ten percent below last year," reports Jan Schmidt-Krayer, the company's managing partner. "The reasons for this were the low raw materials prices and the close-down of unprofitable divisions. With our product portfolio and thanks to prudent actions we have nonetheless attained very good results."
Thomas Hellige has taken the decision to leave his management position at Schmidt + Clemens (S+C) for reasons of advancing age. The successor to his position as Chief Sales Officer will take over his duties on 01/06/15.
The Lindlar special steel specialist Schmidt + Clemens (S+C) is a world market leader in tube systems for the petrochemical industry. This has now been certified by Lexikon der deutschen Weltmarktführer ("Lexicon of German World Market Leaders").
