Lindlar, June 22 2024. The Lindlar-based stainless steel specialist Schmidt + Clemens (S+C) has made a donation of 25,000.00 euros to the Lindlar-Frielingsdorf branch of the German Red Cross (DRK) to mark the company's 145th anniversary.
"The DRK plays an important role in our society," said Jan Schmidt-Krayer, Managing Partner of S+C. "The donation is intended for the conversion and extension of the local association's building in order to further close the funding gap."
The donation was handed over as part of the S+C Football Cup to mark the 145th anniversary of the Lindlar-based family business S+C. On May 1, 1879, Ludwig Schmidt and Wilhelm Clemens founded the traditional company, which today is the world market leader in pipe systems for the petrochemical industry.
"It is important to me that we take responsibility in the region. We have been based here in Lindlar since 1900, so we have very close ties to the people who live and work here," says Schmidt-Krayer. Many citizens volunteer with the DRK or other organizations and thus play an indispensable role. With the donation to the DRK, S+C would also like to express its thanks for this voluntary commitment.
S+C manufactures stainless steel products and solutions and, in addition to the Group's headquarters in Lindlar, also produces in the Czech Republic, Spain and Malaysia. Around 1100 employees work for the family-owned company worldwide.
