European Championships at Schmidt + Clemens

Lindlar, June 25, 2024. This year, the Lindlar-based stainless steel specialist Schmidt + Clemens (S+C) can look back on its foundation 145 years ago and is celebrating this with a big family soccer party in the ONI Arena in Frielingsdorf.

Eight teams from the various departments of S+C in Lindlar and one team each from the subsidiaries in the Czech Republic and Spain competed against each other last Saturday for the coveted winners' trophies. The teams were cheered on by their colleagues and their families in the sunny weather.

"We look back proudly on 145 years of Schmidt + Clemens," said Managing Partner Jan Schmidt-Krayer. "Today, we are a globally successful family business. We owe this success to our employees' passion for stainless steel. My very special thanks go to them on this day!"

The best entertainment was provided. Can shooting and soccer rodeo were popular with the guests, while the children enjoyed the bouncy castle and the hands-on circus. The employees had provided a rich cake buffet and spoiled their colleagues with their favorite cakes.

Jan Schmidt-Krayer had a surprise in store for sports club Frielingsdorf and handed over a cheque for 1,000.00 euros as a thank you.

The S+C Cup kicked off at 13:00. After an exciting group phase, in which ten teams competed, the semi-finals took place in the late afternoon. The teams S+C Spain and Micky's Schleudernüsse met in the first semi-final.  With a score of 4:0, the Spanish team won the match. In the 2nd semi-final, FC Innenrohrdesign and the CS-Halle Zusammenbau team faced off. Team CS-Halle was the second finalist with a 1-2 result. In the exciting final, S+C Spain then played against the team from Kaiserau (CS-Halle Zusammenbau). The final ended 1:0 and Spain were crowned European champions, at least in Frielingsdorf.

After the award ceremony, the S+C Football Cup ended with public viewing in the ONI Arena.
