Engelskirchen/Lindlar, September 05, 2024. At the event location “old hammer mill” in Engelskirchen-Bickenbach, Lindlar-based stainless steel specialist Schmidt + Clemens (S+C) honoured its employees celebrating 25 and 40 years of service.
"Generations work for us, from young trainees to our long-serving employees. It makes me proud that you, our long-serving employees, have remained loyal to us," said Managing Partner Jan Schmidt-Krayer in his welcoming address.
Over 200 retirees accepted S+C's invitation to the old hammer mill in Bickenbach to celebrate the 13 jubilarians together.
In his speech, Jan Schmidt-Krayer briefly addressed the company's favourable economic situation and explained current projects within the company to the guests. The entrepreneur did not mince his words when it came to energy policy, tax burdens and high levels of bureaucracy in Germany. "We family businesses are the backbone of the German economy. However, politicians must react and create framework conditions that enable us to survive in international competition!"
After the welcoming speeches from the management and works council, Jan Schmidt-Krayer and Dominic Otte, Managing Director Production & Technology, honoured the employees celebrating their anniversaries. Ten employees were honoured for 40 years of service and three employees for 25 years.
"I would also like to congratulate you on behalf of the shareholders and the Advisory Board," said Schmidt-Krayer, "we owe you a great debt of gratitude. Together we have made S+C what we are today: A global market leader in tube systems for the petrochemical industry."
Sustainability is a top priority at the Lindlar-based family business. S+C also sees its personnel policy as an important contribution. Low staff turnover, short distances to work and fair, family-friendly working conditions contribute to achieving the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals. S+C was recently recognised by Deutschland Test as a company with the "Best Work-Life Balance".
In addition to its headquarters in Lindlar, Schmidt + Clemens employs around 1100 people and has production facilities in Spain, the Czech Republic and Malaysia. With highly complex components made from centrifugal casting and mould casting, the company contributes to use the earth's resources more sustainably.
