“Crisis Heroes” initiative

Schmidt + Clemens cited for its commitment in the coronavirus crisis

Lindlar, July 29, 2020 - Schmidt + Clemens (S+C) has been named among the “Crisis Heroes” (“Helden in der Krise”) for its outstanding commitment in the coronavirus crisis. By awarding this distinction, the F.A.Z.-Institut, Hansgrohe, Beekeeper, Signal Induna and “news aktuell”, a subsidiary of dpa, wish to express thanks for the extraordinary help given by S+C and others in the pandemic. According to the initiators of the award, S+C has, through its commitment, contributed to alleviating people’s destiny in the coronavirus crisis.

S+C is one of around 1,000 “Crisis Heroes”. However, those named also stand for many others who have acted similarly, and show that the level of social commitment during the coronavirus crisis in Germany has been truly impressive.

“The coronavirus pandemic presents us not only with major economic challenges,” says S+C CEO Jan Schmidt-Krayer. “We must also not lose sight of all those who have fallen into hardship because of the crisis.” Consequently, the Lindlar-based stainless steel specialist has not only given donations in cash and kind to support the work of the Caritas organization and the Oberbergische Tafel, a local food bank, but also used company resources to print parts for face visors for use in medical practices, etc.

The F.A.Z.-Institut has awarded the distinction to honor activities of many different kinds, from the production of large quantities of disinfectant for use in hospitals, to special care and support services for the elderly and even to internet platforms designed to assist in organizing neighborhood help. The study involved researching some 350 million sources on the internet.
