In its June 15 issue, the German business magazine Focus reports on Germany’s most innovative enterprises. This is now the second time that the distinction has gone to Schmidt + Clemens (S+C), the stainless steel specialist based in Lindlar, Germany.
“We were already thrilled to be nominated, and now we are even more than proud to be awarded the distinction once more,” states managing partner and CEO Jan Schmidt-Krayer.
The Schmidt + Clemens Group pools its research and development activities at the parent site in Lindlar and at its Spanish subsidiary. Around 30 scientists, material experts and engineers are engaged in the constant further development of materials and the optimization of processes. “As world market leaders, we always have to be one step ahead. In that regard, our customers’ expectations are very high,” Schmidt-Krayer adds.
The study by Focus and Focus Money entitled “Germany’s most innovative enterprises” is the biggest investigation into the perceived strength of innovation in Germany, and involved rating Germany’s 5,000 biggest enterprises as measured by workforce numbers in the categories Innovation Activity, Investment, Research & Development, Product Innovations and Technology. It is based on over 20 million statements found in digital media relating to the firms concerned.
In addition to its parent site in Germany, the Schmidt + Clemens Group also produces in Spain, the Czech Republic, Malaysia and Saudi-Arabia. S+C is the world market leader in pipe systems for the petrochemical industry. The product range also includes components for use in separation technology, energy engineering, industrial furnace construction and the pump industry.
