Überlingen, June 20, 2023. Congratulations at the German SME Summit: Ranga Yogeshwar congratulates Schmidt + Clemens GmbH + Co. KG from Lindlar on being awarded the TOP 100 seal. The award ceremony at the Summit will take place on Friday, 23 June, in Augsburg for all SMEs that received the TOP 100 seal at the beginning of the year. The science journalist will accompany the innovation competition, which is being held for the 30th time, as a mentor. In the scientific selection process, Schmidt + Clemens made a particular impression in the size category C (more than 200 employees) in the category "External Orientation/Open Innovation". This is the third time that the company has been among the top innovators.

Since its foundation in 1879, Schmidt + Clemens has been all about high quality, customised solutions made of stainless steel. 144 years of innovations in centrifugal casting, mould casting and investment casting as well as forged components have made the company the world market leader for tube systems in the petrochemical industry. "What sets us apart is the combination of a wealth of experience and enormous ambition in terms of innovation," says Managing Director Dominic Otte. He adds that their philosophy can be summed up in just three key words: "Passion, innovation and tradition." Managing partner Jan Schmidt-Krayer points to the latest measure to promote innovation: "With 'INNOVATION NOW.' we have installed a platform through which employees can easily contribute their ideas for innovations." Because innovation also needs inspiration from outside, Schmidt + Clemens cooperates with colleges, institutes and universities and works in the "Innovation Hub Bergisches RheinLand" with computer science and mechanical engineering experts from the Technical College Köln at the Gummersbach campus.
