Commitment to oberberg's food bank

S+C trainees support the food bank in Gummersbach

Gummersbach/Lindlar, December 12, 2023. Ten trainees from Lindlar-based stainless steel specialist Schmidt + Clemens (S+C) helped out at the Oberberg food bank in Gummersbach today together with trainer Lars Katzmarek.

The young people were ready at 8 a.m. on the dot to help the helpers at the food bank in Gummersbach shortly before Christmas. The S+C trainees packed Christmas buckets of food for the food bank's guests, accompanied the drivers collecting food and volunteered in the soup kitchen in Karlstraße.

"I am very grateful to the young people," said the chairman of the food bank, Ulrich Pfeiffer. "You can rely on the support from Lindlar. We received a donation cheque from S+C last week and there are lots of helping hands from S+C here today!"

The Oberberg food bank supplies over 1000 people. The work of the food banks is becoming increasingly difficult. Food donations from supermarkets are dwindling, which means that additional food has to be purchased. "We urgently need support," says Pfeiffer.

"I'm really proud of our trainees," says Lars Katzmarek. "We've already painted a playground in Lindlar together, helped with the food pantry in Lindlar and Frielingsdorf and we've also been helping out here in Gummersbach just before Christmas for several years now."

Publication is free of charge. Please send a voucher copy.
