S+C has a long-standing connection to handball – supporting both the professional team VfL Gummersbach and grassroots sports initiatives. Founded in 1879 by Ludwig Schmidt and Wilhelm Clemens as a steel trading company in Frankfurt am Main, Schmidt + Clemens has evolved into the global market leader for tube systems in the petrochemical industry.
Today, S+C operates a state-of-the-art foundry with a strong focus on centrifugal and static casting. With the launch of its in-house AI Competence Center in 2024, the company continues to drive innovation – building on tradition while shaping the future of high-alloy steel solutions.

Lars Niemczewski – Head of Corporate Communications & Group SpokespersonLars Niemczewski has been part of the Schmidt + Clemens team for over 30 years. After training as an industrial clerk, he deepened his expertise with studies in marketing at the St. Gallen Business School and communications management at the German Press Academy in Berlin.
Since 2006, he has been the official spokesperson of the S+C Group and leads the company’s corporate communications. As your first point of contact for press inquiries, he is available for statements, interviews, and background information.
