Services for Steam Reformer

ID Baseline Measurement

Sauron ID Profilometer

In the radiant section in the steam reforming process, the most common failure mechanism is creep. Progress of damage is monitored by measuring diameter increase and elongation. We assist you and your service provider delivering an inner diameter baseline measurement by means of artificial vision technology.

Our system collects images while moving along the internal surface of fully assembled tubes. The proprietary system defines a diameter for every frame acquired, thus providing an extremely detailed profile of the inner diameter dimension along the tube. The information obtained offers an extended quality control, as well as a detailed reference for inspection after service exposure, i.e. during a scheduled furnace shut-down. Subsequently, allowing a much more accurate remaining life assessment.
