Dow Chemical

A tube bundle had to be replaced. This bundle was installed horizontally in a radiation zone of a furnace.
Small installation openings allowed very limited pre-assembly of the coil, only. The pre-assembled tubes and the return bends had to be introduced into the firebox individually.
This resulted in extensive lifting, welding, and testing activities.

INEOS

The project involved replacing the inlet and outlet manifolds as well as the coils connecting them. The coils were made from bent centricast tubes.
Extensive machining work had to be carried out on site before the old manifolds could be removed. This work had to be carried out with a high degree of precision to enable the new parts to be welded in the exact position.
During that time, the ongoing coronavirus pandemic placed particularly high demands on our employees.
