Laboratory Services

In-house certified

Our certified laboratory offers independent destructive and non-destructive metal testing services based on current standards.

Working with high-end, state-of-the-art testing and investigation equipment, we are able to use our know-how and experience to deliver precise and understandable results, as well as advise you according to your particular needs.

In the laboratory, metallographic examinations are carried out. Using a microscope, the microstructure of the sample is analyzed.
The creep strength is determined. This test is of crucial importance for assessing the service life of materials under high-stress conditions.
The tensile test determines a material’s mechanical properties under tensile load. In a universal testing machine, a specimen is stretched until fracture to measure parameters such as yield strength, tensile strength, and elongation at break.
The scanning electron microscope (SEM) provides extremely high-resolution images of surfaces and microstructures at the nanometer scale. This technology represents a very high standard in material testing, enabling precise analyses for research and quality assurance.

S+C’s Testing and Laboratory Centre, certified to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025, has for many years been a neutral body for the development, testing, examination and classification of materials. All tests can be monitored by approval and classification organisations such as the TÜV, LRS, GL or the company’s own approval and quality assurance department.
