Condition Monitoring Service
Get to know your coil condition – Exclusive for steam cracker operatorsOur Condition Monitoring Service enables steam cracker operators to keep a precise overview of the radiant coil condition.
No more guessing about remaining service life – we deliver accurate, data-driven insights that help ensure furnace integrity, maintain operational safety, and plan tube replacement with confidence, extending their lifetime wherever possible.
We achieve this with our non-destructive Condition Monitoring Tool – CMT
- Equipped with four highly accurate sensors
- Capable of scanning the tube lengthwise and crosswise
- Able to crawl up and down one tube in just five minutes
- Measures the difference in condition between tube sections – full picture!
- It currently works with standard materials (25-35 & 35-45)
How it works
Transforming Measurements into Maintenance StrategyThe key to transform raw sensor readings into reliable, actionable insights lies in exceptional calibration. At S+C, we’ve built an extensive database of ex-service samples over many years. This forms the solid foundation for accurately calibrated sensors tailored to each alloy. Our deep knowledge of alloy ageing behavior enables us to deliver highly precise, alloy-specific measurement solutions.
Our approach is holistic. During the furnace evaluation, we not only conduct precise measurements using our Coil Condition Monitoring Tool, but we also perform a thorough visual inspection of the furnace.
For an inspection on site we plan ahead with the steam cracker operation and provide all the necessary inspection plan based on the technical drawings. When the day comes for the actual measurement, we have everything set up for smooth operation.
The Result
The results of our findings will be delivered in form of a report. Or the results could be presented in person, if preferred- Gain insight into the aged condition and causes thereof
- Burner malfunction
- Overheating during cracking
- Overheating during decoking
- Relative weldability (locate best possible weld area for cutting and welding)
- Full-picture furnace analysis (Inlet & Outlet + Bottom & top)
- After failure analysis (Scan of full furnace after break down to find other locations close to failure)
