S+C charity marathon 2023 – family business committed to the region

Once again in 2023, the company’s CEO visited four local institutions in the Oberberg region just before Christmas.

Support for local food banks

For many years, Schmidt + Clemens has supported the food banks in the Oberberg region. In addition to donations in kind and cash, S+C apprentices actively volunteer to support the facilities several times a year.

Aid for earthquake victims

During the night of February 6, a devastating earthquake struck parts of Turkey and Syria. As emergency relief, the Schmidt + Clemens Group donated €10,000 to the Malteser relief service.

For the first time, the stainless steel specialist from Lindlar took part in the Green Steel World trade fair and conference in Essen.

Donation to the German Red Cross

On the occasion of its 145th anniversary, Schmidt + Clemens donated €25,000 to the Lindlar-Frielingsdorf local chapter of the German Red Cross.

As part of a two-day charity tour in 2024, he presented significant financial contributions to six social and non-profit organizations in the region. A check for €25,000 was donated to the local fire department.

In 2024, we supported the expansion of the local German Red Cross facility and provided funding for essential equipment for the volunteer fire department. We also support regional food banks that supply essential groceries to those in need. Beyond financial contributions, our apprentices in Lindlar actively take part – volunteering on-site for a day at a time to assist these organizations.

Additionally, our apprentices participate in the local Chamber of Commerce’s “Social Day,” helping move forward nonprofit initiatives throughout the region.

We are also passionate about fostering early interest in technology and skilled trades. For example, we support local elementary schools in Lindlar in the STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), helping spark excitement for engineering and innovation among young students.

Our commitment extends far beyond our region. We support a variety of NGOs and provide assistance in times of crisis. Whether it is the historic floods in Germany, the earthquake in Turkey, or the flooding in Spain – Schmidt + Clemens and our employees stand together.
