Lindlar, December 05, 2023. On International Volunteer Day today, six apprentices from Lindlar-based stainless steel specialist Schmidt + Clemens (S+C) are actively helping out at the food pantry in Frielingsdorf.
"As a family business, it is important to us to take responsibility in the region. We have already been able to support the pantry in the past and will certainly continue to do so," says Lars Niemczewski, press spokesman for the S+C Group.
And the trainees did not come empty-handed either, but brought 150 S chocolate Santa Clauses with them so that the many children that the facility helps to care for will also receive a sweet greeting on St. Nicholas Day tomorrow.
"It's important to me that young people experience how we help and get a feel for people in need. After all, there are also people in our society who urgently need our help," says Katharina Hagen, head of the facility.
The S+C trainees will be helping to collect food from the stores today and will also be involved in handing it out.
