Lindlar awards pupil prize

The municipality of Lindlar has been honouring special achievements since 2012

Lindlar, June 20, 2023. There was great joy among the eight prizewinners who received the Lindlar Pupils' Prize, endowed with € 500.00 each, during a ceremony in the Lindlar Voßbruchhalle yesterday (Monday). Mayor Dr. Georg Ludwig congratulated the prize winners and presented them with their certificates: "On the one hand, the pupil prize recognises outstanding achievements - that is one side of the award. It shows young people that individual achievement is worthwhile. On the other hand, the Pupil Award serves to honour social commitment, because this is vital for our society."

After the pandemic, this was the first award ceremony that could take place live again. Representing the four sponsors of the Pupil Award, Lars Niemczewski from Schmidt + Clemens (S+C) welcomed the guests and conveyed the congratulations of Kreissparkasse Köln, Volksbank Berg, ONI-Wärmetrafo and S+C. In his welcoming speech, he addressed the so-called Generation Z and their attitude towards work-life balance. He also took up the cudgels for the young generation and was sure "that the four sponsoring companies are among the top employers in the region".

The programme of the award ceremony was organised by the schools together with the school authority of the municipality of Lindlar. The award was presented for the first time in 2012. The Lindlar Pupil Award is based on the idea that there is a Lindlar pupil body at the four secondary schools and that the schools work together for the benefit of the pupils and enable them to have an optimal school career.
