Schmidt + Clemens achieves strong annual result for 2024

Lindlar, May 10, 2025. The Schmidt + Clemens Group (S+C), the stainless steel specialist headquartered in Lindlar, presented a pleasing result for the 2024 financial year at its shareholders' meeting.

Despite global uncertainties and noticeable economic challenges, the group of companies was able to significantly increase its turnover to around 472 million euros - an increase of 33% compared to the previous year. The balance sheet total also recorded significant growth from around 226 to 335 million euros. The equity ratio is a solid 52%.

"2024 was not an easy year. The ongoing geopolitical conflicts, in particular the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine and the unstable situation in the Middle East, have greatly unsettled the global markets. I am therefore all the more pleased that we were able to achieve a good result as a group," says Jan Schmidt-Krayer, Managing Partner. "My thanks go to our customers, who have remained loyal to us even in difficult times - and of course to our entire team. Passion, innovation and tradition: these are the values that define our family business."

At the same time, Schmidt-Krayer urges caution: "The positive result should not obscure the fact that the situation in German industry remains critical. The urgently needed turnaround in industrial policy in Germany has yet to materialize. High energy prices and increasing bureaucracy are jeopardizing our competitiveness in Germany."

A forecast for the current financial year is correspondingly cautious: "The geopolitical uncertainties remain, and unfortunately it cannot be assumed that electricity and gas prices will ease in the short term," Schmidt-Krayer continues.

In addition to its headquarters in Lindlar, Schmidt + Clemens also manufactures in Malaysia, Spain and the Czech Republic. The portfolio includes centrifugal casting, mold casting, investment casting and forged components. As the global market leader in tube systems for the petrochemical industry, S+C also plays a leading role in other segments.
