SCOPE® Fusion HT E
The steam cracker tubular solution of the futureThe steam cracker is where the value chain starts in your ethylene and propylene production facility. Integrated into your furnace, SCOPE® Fusion HT E provides a highly reliable and long lasting operation. It ensures the maximum efficiency of your steam cracker while at the same time helps to achieve the set climate objectives, i.e. lower carbon footprint.
Based on many years of experience, extensive research and comprehensive testing, S+C continuously optimizes its product range. Our objective is to achieve maximum energy efficiency, the longest possible operational intervals, and minimum outage for your plant.
With SCOPE® Fusion HT E, we have achieved a leap forward to an entirely new level.
It combines the well-proven high quality alloy Centralloy® HT E, with a three-dimensional tube design. This effectively slows down the coke deposition process and optimizes the cracking of the hydrocarbons in the steam cracker.
Intelligent profile meets superior material
SCOPE® Fusion HT E is the right choice for many reasonsThe design goals for the SCOPE® Fusion HT E tube were particularly extensive. Hence, they specifically aimed to avoid the known shortcomings of existing profiled tubes. The objective was to achieve the highest possible plant availability and reduce greenhouse gases while optimizing the energy efficiency of a steam cracker equipped with the SCOPE® Fusion HT E tube at the same time.
The benefits, such as significantly increased selectivity and improved ethylene yield, add up to a quick return on investment for the operator.
SCOPE® Fusion HT E helps you get the most out of your steam cracker!
- Controlled tangetiual flow, minimized pressure drop
- Extended operational cycles
- Higher ethylene yield
- Increased aboslute velocity
- Reduction of the CO2 footprint
- Centrifugally cast tubes rather than forged (wrought) tubes
- Perfect complement to Centralloy® HT E
- Tailor-made for your plant
During operation, SCOPE® Fusion HT E tubes facilitate a relatively low tube metal temperature, as well as, low-pressure drop. Whereby the temperature across the tube shell is uniformly distributed. In combination with the exceptionally metallurgy of Centralloy® HT E, both coking and carburization is greatly inhibited.
The convenient result, to name a few only, are: less decoking cycle’s, longer coil life time, lower maintenance costs, less wear and tear on the plant – and much longer uninterrupted operating time.
S+C looks back on vast experience in the production of centrifugally cast tubes. Those cast materials have properties that make them particularly suitable for the use in steam crackers.
In combination with the unique SCOPE® design, it provides for better heat transfer, lower tube metal temperatures, and more uniform gas temperature distribution than with conventional tubes, as well as, a low pressure drop within the tubes.
Radical innovative new ways of thinking made it possible to develop the mechanical production process for SCOPE® Fusion HT E tubes and the unique profile itself. The technology offers clear advantages compared with other tubes on the market. The SCOPE® profile is designed to achieve the target temperature inside the tube faster and to distribute it more uniformly, which has a positive effect on both the selectivity and the yield.
This is the only tube that combines the innovative SCOPE® profile with the Centralloy® HT E material. This well proven material forms an extremely stable protective layer on the inner wall of the tube and acts against catalytic coke formation as well as carburization of the tube material.
Measurements have shown that the simultaneous combination of high heat transfer and a balanced gas temperature inside the tube results in significantly higher product selectivity. Together with the optimized flow rate in the SCOPE® Fusion HT E tube and the greatly extended decoking intervals, it provides major operational and economic benefits.
