Schmidt + Clemens is "Innovation Champion"

Highest innovative strength - award from WELT and Service Value

Lindlar, May 11, 2025. The Schmidt + Clemens Group (S+C) has been awarded the title of "Highest Innovative Strength". In a Germany-wide study conducted by ServiceValue in cooperation with WELT, S+C is one of the innovation champions of the German economy and is the industry winner in the "Steel Industry" category.

"If you want to be successful over a long period of time, you should be able to reinvent yourself again and again," comments Dr. Claus Dethloff, Managing Director of ServiceValue GmbH, and adds: "In the case of commercial enterprises, this can take place specifically in product development and in the service creation process, but in terms of an innovative corporate strategy, a completely different course can also be set for the future."

S+C has done just that - with the recently published "Ambition 2030" corporate strategy. The focus here is on sustainable innovations, forward-looking technologies and a clear commitment to responsibility towards future generations.

"With the new corporate strategy, we have set the course for the future. As a family business, we think in terms of generations and have aligned our strategy accordingly," says Jan Schmidt-Krayer, Managing Partner. "It is important for our group of companies that we are committed to the sustainable use of our planet's resources with a feel for trends. This award shows that we are on the right track."

Last year, S+C founded its AI Competence Center. The new department focuses on the use of artificial intelligence in production and administration. This allows processes to be optimized and simplified. Current areas of application are already showing initial success and will be expanded further.

The Schmidt + Clemens Group has been developing and producing high-alloy specialty materials for over 145 years and is now the global market leader in pipe systems for the petrochemical industry. In addition to its headquarters in Lindlar, the company is represented internationally with sites in Spain, the Czech Republic, Malaysia and the USA. Over 1,000 employees worldwide are behind the innovative strength of S+C.

With state-of-the-art production technologies, a strong focus on research and development and clear goals in terms of sustainability and digitalization, S+C underlines its claim to be an innovation leader in the industry - today and in the future.
